Sun Surf is distinguished and popular for bringing back to life the genuine vintage prints from the 1930’s-50’s when it comes to Hawaiian shirts. This particular Special Edition off white rayon short sleeve Hawaiian shirt is so unconventional that it is definitely going to grab the attention of the onlookers. The prints are inspired by the legendary One Hundred Ghost Tales of Japan. It was a tradition in Japan where friends gathered to share blood curdling and scary ghost stories in the olden times as entertainment. Before they started the story they lit hundred candles in a room and at the end of each story a candle was put out. As the stories reached the hundredth number, the room would get darker with the candles being put out, and it was believed after the hundredth story when the hundredth candle was put out, a scary spirit would appear. The famous Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai had created woodblock prints for five of the popular ghost stories; The Mansion of the Plates (Sara-yashiki), The Laughing Hannya (Warai-hannya), Oiwa (Oiwa-san), Kohada Koheiji, and Obsession (Shûnen). These designs by the famous artist are what is visible on this off white regular fit shirt. So it is actually a piece of art that you will be adding to your wardrobe. The look of the shirt is completed with Cuban collar, single chest pocket, and wooden buttons. The shirt comes in an attractive Sun Surf presentation box. Made in Japan. DRY CLEAN ONLY. SKU-SURF7542
